WYEP Pittsburgh Community Broadcast Center

WYEP is a public radio station in Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood. We installed and maintain their new facility. This consists of four studios, a technical control room, a talk booth, and two performance spaces. The four studios use a digital mixing system that allows any studio to be on the air. It also allows for network-wide use of any asset input or output. It is a fiber-linked, redundant system. One of this mixing system's great features is the ability to self-diagnose failures and automatically reboot the entire system in case of a crash.
We assisted in diagnosing acoustic problems. In addition to adjusting some of the built in devices, we also designed and built some of the absorbers required to correct other problems.
We provided not only the installation, but also custom products from panels to distribution equipment. Furthermore, we were able to avoid potential problems during construction such as grounding and electrical noise issues.
