Edward Simon & Co. was established in 1975. We specialize in commercial sound, video, and communication systems. Our particular emphasis is in engineering and design build projects of large to very large size. We have worked with many manufacturers to introduce new technology to our projects. Some of our firsts include the first large-scale computer-controlled stadium sound system, the first digital signal processing-steered loudspeaker array, one of the first and largest audio over Ethernet systems, and the first non-application specific multiple control system in a large venue.

We work closely with many manufacturers in designing new products. In the past this has included the first internal digital signal processed loudspeaker and the first lightweight, full-size line array. Currently we have two projects under develeopment with different manufacturers. We also have under development new DSP algorithms to improve the systems we design and a prefocused, non-inverse square law line array.

Edward Simon & Co. has a different philosophy than other AV providers. We do not have any salesmen or "account executives." The person you work with from the beginning of your project is responsible not just for meeting with you to determine your needs, but also for engineering and implementing your project to the end. Their understanding of the technology and their direct contact with you prevents miscommunication and reduces expenses and delays in providing you with the systems you need.

To enable us to produce innovative solutions we have a fully equipped shop. Located just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, our facility houses our offices, wood shop, metal shop, and paint shop. Our woodshop includes three table saws, a band saw, a planer, stationary sanders, and all of the usual (and unusual) hand tools. Our metal shop is unequaled in our industry. Our Nisshinbo MAP500 turret press allows us to make metal parts almost as easily as a dot matrix printer prints on paper. Our press brake can bend one-half inch steel up to eight feet long. We also have the capacity to engrave panels up to twenty-four by thirty-six inches. Our paint shop is able to paint aluminum, in addition to wood and steel. The electronics section of our shop not only has an Audio Precision Series Two analog and digital analyzer, but has spectrum analyzers covering up to 1 gigahertz, time domain reflectometers, component analyzers, and basic data stream analysis equipment.

Our staff has completed more than 700 installations including performing arts centers, stadiums, arenas, ballparks, churches, teleconferencing facilities, shopping malls, television studios, and radio stations.

Sports facilities we have worked on include Jacobs Field, the Verizon Center, Mellon Arena, Nationwide Arena, Heinz Field, Gund Arena, and Milan Puskar Stadium, in addition to dozens of other Minor League and college facilities.

Television and radio stations include the WYEP Community Broadcast Center, WCYJ FM Radio, Atalantic Teleproduction and the Tennessee Titans Video Production/Scoreboard Control Room.

Other installations include the Museum of Modern Art, Wheeling Island Casino, the Flint Center and the Blaisdell Performing Arts Center.

At Edward Simon & Co. we hold ourselves to a high standard. We continue to provide the best audio/video systems at the lowest possible cost. Our references speak volumes for our engineered systems and services. We continue to evolve as a premier custom fabrication shop. From our first computer (a then new 1978 PDP8) to the latest technology, we do not merely keep up with the cutting edge - we help make it.
