Verizon Center

We have just completed a new sound system for the Verizon Center. This is one of the busiest arenas in the country. Not only does it have professional men's and women's basketball and hockey, it also hosts Georgetown University's games in addition to concerts and the circus.
The sound system is a new design concept. We designed and built application-specific loudspeakers for the venue. We had them tested by an independent laboratory to confirm that they behaved as designed. This allowed the arena to have a sound system that is capable of matching the volume level of other arenas, but with better speech intelligibility, significantly improved high frequency response, and a hanging weight that is 20% less than other arenas. To control this system we worked with Ashly Audio to develop custom signal processing and control for this system. That is part of the secret as to how we are able to achieve such results.
